MERC Rebrand

The Metropolitan Educational Research Consortium leads research that addresses enduring and emerging issues in PK12 education with the goal of informing policy, building the professional knowledge and skills of key stakeholders, and contributing to the body of scholarly knowledge to ultimately impact outcomes relevant to students, schools, and communities.
MERC came to me wanting a new & refreshed logo that better aligned with their core values as an organization. To help them achieve that goal, I not only conceptualized a new logo, but developed an entire visual identity that represents MERC in a professional & modern, yet visually interesting way. The logo mark consists of overlapping triangles which allude to the idea of connecting research, practice, and policy in public education— a vital component of what MERC does. A neo-grotesque font is used to create a uniform and consistent design with geometric letterforms that complement the even line weight of the triangles. The additional logo variations, color palette, and typography help complete an overall cohesive and expansive brand identity that is versatile and recognizable across multiple mediums.
